A Montreal man is facing numerous charges for allegedly forcing a 21-year-old woman to work in the sex trade in Toronto.

According to police, the victim was recruited by a man and forced to provide sexual services to clients every night for six months.

The woman told police that she was repeatedly assaulted and forced to turn the money she made over to the man.

At some point, the victim told the man she didn’t want to work in the industry anymore to which the man allegedly threatened to kill her and her family.

A suspect was arrested on Dec. 9 after police received a call from a citizen who witnessed a physical altercation between the victim and a man.

Twenty-six-year-old Reda Ho-Bourmaki has been charged with human trafficking, material benefit from human trafficking, material benefit from sexual services, procuring or exercising control, uttering threats and three counts of assault.

He was scheduled to make an appearance in court at Old City Hall on Dec. 9.
