Two men were found dead in a car that was marked with a note warning of poisonous gas, north of Toronto on Tuesday.
York Regional Police began investigating the discovery in King Township, on the 15th side road just east of Weston Road, at around 6:15 a.m.
The dead-end road sees very little traffic and has been closed as part of the investigation, police said on Tuesday.
Police have confirmed that two men were found dead inside the vehicle after a passerby called police complaining of a foul odor in the area.
Police say they are still working to identify the victims.
Sgt. Gary Phillips said notes were posted in and around the vehicle warning of dangerous gas and requesting police response.
Fire crews are currently at the scene and are working to identify which gas or chemical was found at the scene. Decontamination efforts are also underway, York police said.
