Police have charged an 18-year-old man with stunt driving after he was pulled over travelling close to 70 kilometres an hour in excess of the speed limit on the Gardiner Expressway early Friday morning.

The man was travelling on the westbound Gardiner Expressway near Highway 427 at around 3:45 a.m. when an officer clocked him at 167 km/h an hour in a 100 km/h zone.

The man, who was pulled over without incident, was charged with stunt driving and speeding.

As a result, police suspended his licence for seven days and impounded his vehicle.
