A 43-year-old man is facing charges in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a woman near St. Clair West station.
Police said a woman walked into Sheppard subway station at around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday and noticed a man walking behind her. She proceeded to board a subway train and the man sat nearby her.
Police said the man started a conversation with the woman about modelling and told her he was a photographer. The man then allegedly offered to help the woman in pursuing a modelling career by taking photos of her.
Once the subway arrived at St. Clair West Station, police said both the man and woman got off.
Police allege the pair then walked to an area near the subway station to take photographs and the woman was sexually assaulted.
The victim was able to flee the scene and later contacted police.
On Thursday at around 9:30 a.m., police arrested Robert Clifford, of Toronto, in connection with the case and charged him with sexual assault and failure to comply with probation.
He made an appearance in court on Friday.
Police said they are concerned there may be more victims and urge anyone with information to contact police at 416-808-7474 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
