Police are investigating after human remains were found in the York region over the weekend.
A command post has been set up after the remains were found near Warden Avenue and Aurora Road in Whitchurch-Stouffville.
The identity and gender of the deceased has not yet been identified, but police are searching for more remains to identify the body and the cause of death.
Several people are missing from the area, including a resident from a group home who wandered from the home in May.
