Peel police are investigating after human remains were found in a Mississauga park Wednesday.
Police said they responded to a call made by a citizen who found the remains in Hewick Meadows Park around 11:30 a.m.
Peel police Const. Erin Cooper said police are not yet certain how long the remains have been in the park.
They are also not sure if the remains are the result of foul play, but investigators from the Homicide and Missing Person Bureau have been called in.
A search of the area where the remains were found will resume Thursday.
Police have not identified the remains and are asking anyone who might have information to call 905-453-2121 ext. 4027 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
