A father and his teenage daughter are dead and two others are seriously injured following an early morning collision on a ramp connecting two highways in Toronto.
Ontario Provincial Police said a GMC Envoy was travelling in the wrong direction on the Queen Elizabeth Way eastbound ramp to Highway 427 northbound when it struck a Dodge Caravan at about 2:50 a.m.
Two people were pronounced dead on scene, a 49-year old man who was driving the Dodge Caravan and his 16-year-old daughter, who was riding in the backseat.
The girl's 50-year-old mother, who was riding in the van’s front passenger seat, was transported to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre with life-threatening injuries.
According to OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford, the 19-year-old driver of the GMC Envoy has been transported to St. Michael's Hospital with serious injuries.
The teen was arrested at the scene, Sgt. Woodford told CTVToronto.ca.
Impaired driving charges are pending.
