The sun was shining and the roads were clear over the weekends which could be why dozens of people were stopped for speeding, say Ontario Provincial Police.
More than 50 drivers were charged with racing on Saturday -- more than double the number on a typical day.
One driver was caught going 200 kilometres an hour and seven others were charged for pulling driver stunts. The OPP were also called to 109 car accidents over the weekend.
Under the province's street-racing legislation, a motorist will have their drivers' licences suspended and their vehicles impounded for seven days. They also face a minimum $2,000 fine.
Speed is being blamed on a weekend crash that landed four people in hospital with serious injuries. Four people were ejected from a van carrying seven passengers on Highway 401 near Allen Road early Sunday morning.
The 20-year-old driver of the van has been charged.
