A Toronto doctor suspended for inappropriate behaviour in 2003 has been charged with sexual assault of a patient.
According to Toronto Police, an eight-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted during a medical examination on March 12.
Investigators believe there may be more victims who have yet to come forward.
According to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario's online records, the doctor's practice is located at 1881 Yonge Street, just south of Davisville Avenue.
College records indicate the doctor was suspended from practice after a 2003 investigation found he had committed an act of "professional misconduct" after sexually abusing a patient.
His suspension was set for 18 months with an option to reduce it to nine months if he completed College-led courses in medical ethics and patient boundaries. Records did not indicate whether he chose to complete the courses.
The doctor was also barred from examining female patients without the presence of a nurse or any who were younger than 12 years old.
Dr. Eleazar Noriega, 63, was arrested on Saturday and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. He was to appear in court on Sunday.
