Police say a male cyclist has died after being struck by a vehicle in Whitby.
The incident occurred before 6 a.m. Monday near Victoria Street and South Blair Road.
Emergency crews transported the cyclist to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Sgt. Nancy van Rooy of Durham Regional Police said the driver involved remained at the scene. It's unclear if charges will be laid.
The cyclist's identity has not been released.
