TORONTO - The first trial in the fatal Boxing Day shooting of Jane Creba could resume as early as next week after a replacement juror was found today.
The trial began Thursday but was delayed when a juror fell ill during the Crown's opening statements.
Judge Ian Nordheimer says the juror was released from hospital and is recovering at home.
Creba, 15, was killed when she was caught in the crossfire of a gun battle in downtown Toronto that left six others wounded on Dec. 26, 2005.
A 20-year-old man is charged with second-degree murder, six counts of attempted murder and five firearms offences.
The man, who was 17 at the time of the killing and can only be identified as J.S.R., is among nine people facing charges in Creba's killing.
