TTC service was shut down between Bloor and Union stations for about 90 minutes during the Monday morning rush hour, after staff discovered a small rail crack.

TTC spokesperson Jessica Martin told ctvtoronto.ca that staff noticed a small crack in the rail at King Station about 7 a.m.

Service was immediately halted so that TTC crews could begin repairing the rail.

Martin said the TTC put 33 shuttle buses on the road to take provide service for subway riders along the Yonge Street subway line.

The problem was cleared by 8:30 a.m. and service resumed as normal.
