TORONTO - A Barrie man is charged after RCMP busted a drug smuggling operation they allege used human couriers to import cocaine through Pearson InternationalAirport.
In September 2008 and March 2009, Canada Border Services Agency officers intercepted two separate human couriers carrying a total of 11 kilograms of cocaine at Pearson.
An RCMP investigation later alleged the two were linked to the suspect.
Police allege the suspect recruited the couriers and arranged for their travel to southern destinations to pick up cocaine.
Denis Roussy, 40, faces two counts of importing cocaine and two counts of conspiracy to import cocaine into Canada.
He was to appear in a Brampton court for bail hearing Friday.
