TORONTO - Cornerback Jordan Younger re-signed with the Toronto Argonauts on Thursday.

Younger is entering his seventh CFL season and sixth with Toronto. The two-time CFL all-star started 13 games with Toronto last year but was released by the Argos last month.

Younger said the return of former Argos teammates Mike O'Shea and Orlondo Steinauer as special-teams and defensive backs coach, respectively, factored in his decision to re-sign.

"Most of what I've learned playing in this league has come from guys like Mike O'Shea and Orlondo Steinauer," Younger said in a statement. "Their character and work ethic makes coming back to Toronto exciting and my outlook for this season is extremely optimistic."

Added Argos head coach Jim Barker: "Jordan has been a very productive player for the Argonauts in the past. At the time he was released by the club, we felt it appropriate to allow him to explore his options. Once the new coaching staff was hired, he was able to get a much clearer picture of how he will fit in here. We are excited he has decided to be a part of what we are building."
