TORONTO - The ailing Toronto Maple Leafs recalled forward Joe Colborne prior to Saturday's game against the Washington Capitals.

The 21-year-old centre will be inserted directly into a lineup that is missing six regulars.

Colborne had 10 goals and 19 points in 13 games with the AHL Marlies this season. He made his NHL debut with Toronto in the final game of last season.

Also Saturday, Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson said defenceman Mike Komisarek requires surgery on a broken arm he suffered in Nashville on Thursday and will be out at least eight weeks.

He's joined on the sidelines by No. 1 goalie James Reimer (concussion-like symptoms) and forwards Clarke MacArthur (upper body), Mikhail Grabovski (lower body), Colby Armstrong (ankle sprain) and Matthew Lombardi (upper body).

Jonas Gustavsson was expected to get the start in goal against Washington. Ben Scrivens is tabbed to play when the Leafs visit Carolina on Sunday.
