Campus-wide walkout planned at U of T as strike continues
University of Toronto students are planning a campus-wide walkout later today to demand a tuition refund and an end to the ongoing strike by the school’s teaching assistants. The mass walkout comes one day after a heated clash was caught on camera at York University, where TAs are also on strike.
Falling concrete prompts early inspection of Gardiner
City crews are expected to inspect the aging Gardiner Expressway for loose concrete today after several chunks were found Tuesday morning. The inspections are typically done three times a year, beginning mid-spring, but after yesterday’s incident, a decision was made to push up the inspection date. Meanwhile, Mayor John Tory has asked for an “immediate report” on additional measures the city can take to make the expressway safer.
