Police west of Toronto are searching for a pickup truck after witnessing an attempted ATM theft from a strip club that doubles as a church.

Officers in Guelph, Ont. were called to the Manor House at approximately 7 a.m. on Wednesday after receiving reports of the theft. The Manor is a strip club that serves as a church on Sunday evenings.

When officers arrived, they saw a black pickup truck dragging an ATM from the building. They said the truck had been used to smash into the building so the suspects could get to the machine.

Police said the suspects had been unable to take the cash out of the ATM before police arrived, so they tethered it to their pickup truck and began to drag it away.

Officers followed the truck for several blocks before the tether broke and the bank machine was disconnected. The chase was called off as the truck headed toward Cambridge, Ont.

Police are searching for the truck, which has been described as a black, four-door Ford F-150.
