A group of Toronto subway riders braved the cold on the weekend to celebrate a strange international tradition: the annual No Pants Subway Ride.

Several subway passengers boarded a train at Dundas Station on Sunday, after informing those on the platform that they were going to "turn this train into a party train."

One by one, pairs of pants were pulled down, exposing a train full of riders to the yearly tradition.

"It's liberating. I feel like my legs are finally free," one of the pants-less riders told CTV Toronto.

The group explained that the tradition was started in New York 15 years ago by an organization called Improv Everywhere. Organizers said more than 60 cities participated in the 2016 No Pants Subway Ride.
