April Reimer, the wife of Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer, became the target of angry fans on Twitter over the weekend.
Some Maple Leafs fans decided to vent their frustration with the team's losing streak online after they lost their fifth straight game against the New Jersey Devils Sunday night.
Unfortunately for April, fans took out their anger on her, presumably because her husband doesn’t have a Twitter account.
Reimer was pulled from the net 22 minutes into the Sunday night game against the New Jersey Devils after allowing three goals on 10 shots. He's has been filling in as the Leafs goaltender during Jonathan Bernier's absence.
Bernier has been out with a groin injury since the March 13 game against the Los Angeles Kings.
The Leafs are barely hanging onto a playoff spot with goaltending and other factors at play.
Some online comments slamming Reimer's wife were not included due to their offensive nature.
