Two boys are under arrest and two others are being sought in connection with a violent carjacking that took place in Scarborough’s West Hill neighbourhood overnight Wednesday.
A woman in her early 30s told police she was followed into the underground parking garage of a Toronto Community Housing complex, located in the area of Lawrence Avenue and Galloway Road, around midnight.
Once the victim parked her BMW, three males got out of the SUV and approached her.
The suspects allegedly struck the woman on her forehead with a piece of wood, investigators said. The victim told CTV Toronto Wednesday that the thick coat she was wearing prevented her from getting further injuries.
She had her purse, phone and car stolen before the suspects fled the scene.
The woman was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.
The victim’s car, a four-door 2004 grey BMW 5 series, was located in the Jane Street and Wilson Avenue area after an anonymous tip was reported to police.
Police reviewed security camera footage in the building and were able to arrest two male teens, ages 13 and 15, a short time later.
Investigators are still looking for two other suspects in connection with the case.
