WELLAND, Ont. - Lakeside Steel Inc. (TSX-V:LS) says it is laying off up to 61 hourly employees at its manufacturing site in Welland, Ont.
The company, which also laid off 40 employees in December, says the move is being made to contain costs in declining markets.
The latest layoff represents about 19 per cent of its unionized workforce at the Welland site in southern Ontario.
Lakeside Steel is a steel pipe and tubing manufacturer serving oil and gas, mining, automotive and other industries.
