An early morning crash near Hamilton has resulted in two deaths, according to police.

The incident occurred in the town of Ancaster at around 3 a.m., when police say a vehicle smashed into a hydro pole.

The car was travelling at a high rate of speed, and the pole was snapped upon impact. The pole then crashed down on the vehicle, police said.
