TORONTO - Toronto police are searching for man they say stabbed a Toronto subway employee and set his collection booth on fire.
Police allege the employee was in the booth (at Lawrence West subway station) when a man approached and tossed gasoline at him, demanding that he open the door.
Police say the worker complied and the man entered and stabbed him with a knife.
Police allege the suspect took some cash while the worker crawled out of the booth after which the suspect set the booth on fire before fleeing the scene.
The Toronto Transit Commission worker was taken to hospital with two stab wounds, neither of which are considered life-threatening.
The suspect is described as tall with a medium build and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a tan scarf over his face.
