HAMILTON - Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory is vowing to stick to his guns in the issue of funding religious schools.
Tory says he will not back away from his controversial proposal despite a poll showing people are worried it will lead to segregation of Ontario society.
He says flip-flopping would be the wrong thing to do, and he's convinced funding religious schools is the right and fair thing to do.
Campaigning in Hamilton today, Tory said the only two options are funding all religious schools or funding none, and he doesn't want to take rights away from Roman Catholics.
Tory said the debate over faith-based schools has "bedeviled'' Ontario governments for years.
He accused Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty of failing to show any leadership on the issue.
