The Toronto Raptors have officially added guard Marco Belinelli and centre Rasho Nesterovic.
The NBA team announced Thursday that it had acquired Belinelli from Golden State in exchange for forward Devean George and cash considerations, and signed the free-agent Nesterovic to an undisclosed contract.
The 23-year-old Belinelli was the 18th overall pick in 2007 and appeared in 42 games for the Warriors last season. The Italian averaged 8.9 points, 2.1 assists and 1.7 rebounds.
"Marco fills a void at the wing position where his shooting and scoring strengths will be needed," Raptors president Bryan Colangelo said in a statement. "Marco's versatility and playmaking abilities make him a very valuable piece for us."
Nesterovich rejoins the Raptors after spending a season in Indiana. The seven-foot centre averaged 6.9 points and 4.6 rebounds while playing 151 games for Toronto from 2006 to 2008.
The organization is excited to welcome him back.
"Rasho brings us a great veteran presence who has a familiarity with our coaching staff and several players," said Colangelo. "His leadership and personality will be great assets for this team."
George leaves the Raptors without ever suiting up for the team. He was acquired earlier this month as part of a sign and trade that also landed Toronto Hedo Turkoglu and Antoine Wright.
