TORONTO - The funeral for telecommunications pioneer Ted Rogers will be held next Tuesday at St. James Cathedral in downtown Toronto.
The founder of the Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX:RCI.B) media empire died at his Toronto home this week at the age of 75.
Visitation for Rogers will be held next Monday in a church north of downtown Toronto (Grace Church on the Hill on Lonsdale Rd).
The funeral will be held the next day at St. James Cathedral for family and close friends only and is not expected to be open to the public.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Loretta Anne Rogers Critical Care Centre at the Toronto Western Hospital.
Rogers is survived by his wife, Loretta, whom he married in 1963, and their four children -- Edward, Lisa, Melinda and Martha.
