Police are searching for a man believed to be in his mid-30s after a taxi driver was punched in the face in Toronto's west end.

According to police, the alleged assault happened following a fare dispute between the driver and four men in the area of Bloor Street West and High Park Avenue at approximately 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21.

Police say all four men entered the TTC's High Park Station and the driver followed them. The men then exited the subway station and were last seen heading into High Park.

The driver was later taken to hospital and has since been released.

Police say the suspect is 6'0" tall and has a medium build with short brown receding hair. He was last seen wearing a light-blue, short-sleeve dress shirt with faded blue jeans and black sunglasses.
