TORONTO - A sentencing hearing for two men convicted of manslaughter in the Boxing Day 2005 shooting death of Jane Creba has been put over.
The hearing is now set for June 17 and 18.
A jury found Louis Woodcock and Tyshaun Barnett guilty of manslaughter earlier this month, but not guilty of second-degree murder.
The judge agreed today to a request from Woodcock's lawyer for a psychiatric assessment report.
Barnett's lawyer says the judge also agreed to a request to clarify the role his client played in the fatal shooting on Yonge Street.
Christopher Hicks notes that a short time has passed since the verdict came down, so today's delay "helps everyone prepare a proper submission."
Creba, 15, was shot when she was caught in the crossfire of a gang shootout while shopping with her family.
Woodcock and Barnett were also found guilty of four counts each of aggravated assault, relating to other people wounded by stray bullets.
Two other men have already been sentenced to life for second-degree murder in Creba's death.
