After a weekend-long war of words sparked by allegations Mayor Rob Ford behaved inappropriately at a fundraising event last week, Sarah Thomson says she’s now considering taking legal action.

“I’m thinking about what to do,” Thomson said Monday, when asked if she will press charges.

“I have time, I don’t have to go right away. I need to talk to my family, I need to talk to people I respect and get their advice.”

Ford has yet to comment on whether he’ll seek legal action in a case that’s marked the latest controversy to hit the mayor’s office.

The war of words stems from claims that Ford made sexually suggestive comments and groped his former mayoral campaign rival during a gala function last Thursday night.

The allegations surfaced Friday morning after Thomson posted a photo taken at the event of herself and the mayor to her Facebook page.

In an accompanying caption and comments, she alleged that the mayor behaved inappropriately.

The Ford camp immediately denied the allegations, releasing a statement Friday that called the accusations "absolutely, completely false."

Ford continued to deny the allegations on Sunday.

During his weekly two-hour talk radio show he questioned whether Thomson, a transit advocate and the publisher of Women’s Post, was "playing with a full deck."

“When people want to make up stories -- that’s their prerogative, and leave it at that,” he said.

Thomson said the mayor’s latest comments come as no surprise.

"He’s a powerful man that’s just been brought out in public, so naturally he’s going to overreact,” Thompson told CP24. “It’s all about bringing respect back into politics."

Thomson said she believes more witnesses will eventually come forward to support her.

"I’m sticking to my story," she said. "I believe it has to come out and I think there are people out there, who I spoke to this weekend, that have said ‘yes we saw he was intoxicated, we're going to think about whether we'll come out or not.'"
