The Gardiner Expressway will be closed for repairs during the weekend, meaning alternate routes will be backed up with an increase in traffic.
Events closures
The Railpath Community Run will divert traffic on Wallace Avenue and Ruskin Avenue from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cherry Street will be closed on Sunday from Unwin Avenue to the beach for the Toronto Ten Miler. Eastbound, Unwin will be closed from Cherry to Leslie Street, and westbound from Leslie to the Outer Harbour Marina, Leslie will be closed between Unwin and Tommy Thompson Park. All closures should be over by 11:30 a.m.
A portion of Elm Street from University Avenue to Elizabeth Street will be closed from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday for the SickKids Adventure Walk.
Lake Shore Boulevard closures
The westbound passing lane will be occupied from Rees Street to Van De Water Crescent by tunnel construction from 9 a.m. to midnight every day until the end of February 2015.
Until Oct. 15, one lane eastbound and one lane westbound will be occupied due to TTC Leslie Street Connection Track Project, 24 hours a day.
Gardiner Expressway closures
The Gardiner Expressway will be closed entirely, from Highway 427 to the Don Valley Parkway, for fall maintenance. The closure starts Friday, Sept. 26 at 11 p.m. and continues until Monday morning at 5 a.m.
