Halton Regional Police are looking for an elderly man after a female employee at a Burlington tanning salon was sexually assaulted.
Police said the suspect, described as being between 60 and 70 years old, walked into Tan Maxx, near Brant Street and North Service Road, after 7 p.m. on Wednesday
Moments earlier, a female worker said she had seen a man walk by the store at least three times. At one point, he stopped and stared through the window at the woman.
The suspect, who used a cane and appeared to be drunk, entered the salon and asked if he could use the bathroom.
On his way to the bathroom, the man stumbled and fell into a wall. He then asked the employee for help. As the woman helped the man to his feet, she alleged he began to hug her and tried to kiss her.
The victim resisted and the suspect tried to pull her into the washroom, police said.
The worker was able to break free and ran to an adjacent store where she asked to men to help her. The men found the suspect in the tanning salon and escorted him out of the building.
The suspect was last seen walking away from the store east on Mount Forest Drive.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries, police said.
The suspect is described as:
- White
- Between 60 and 70 years old
- 5-foot-6
- 160 pounds
- Grey hair
- Several age spots on his face
- He wore metal frame glasses, a navy blue zip-up jacket, and his khaki-style dress pants were pulled up very high
