Traffic was shut down on Black Creek Drive in North Toronto as police pursued three suspects wanted in an afternoon armed robbery.
Authorities searched the bushes and surrounding areas for suspects and weapons after the robbery took place around 4:30 p.m. at 1883 Jane Street.
A York Regional Police helicopter is participating in the search.
Preliminary reports said officers chased a green car to Queens Drive and blocked off the area after the suspects fled on foot.
Police have found at least two guns in the vehicle.
One man, apparently the driver of the green vehicle, has been taken to hospital with a gun shot wound to the leg.
It's reported he was fired on by police.
The search has prompted several road closures in the area during peak rush-hour traffic.
The Emergency Tactical Force has cleared the scene and the Special Investigation Unit is investigating.
