Toronto police are appealing for a man wanted in a series of downtown sexual assaults to turn himself in.
The Toronto Police Service Sex Crimes Unit urged Thomas Reardon, 34, to surrender to police during a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
Police allege the suspect is connected to the sexual assault of three women who were approached in recent weeks. Police also suggest the man may be connected to a fourth sexual assault that occurred in late April.
Reardon “befriended” his victims, police allege. He would “talk to them, befriend themand then they’d accompany him to where he wanted to take them,” said policeTuesday.
On August 23, police said an 18-year-old woman was approached in the area of Yonge and Wellesley Streets where a suspect led her to a nearby building and sexually assaulted her.
Similar attacks occurred on August 24 when a suspect allegedly approached a sex trade worker at Gerrard Street East and Parliament Street, and a 26-year-old woman on August 29, in the area of Yonge and Gloucester Streets.
The victims range in age from 18 to 40 with no common traits, but police say the suspect is “picking his women.” No victims required hospitalization.
Police believe there may be other victims and are encouraging them to come forward.
Police assume Reardon remains in Toronto and frequents the Wellesley-Sherbourne area.
Reardon is described as a white male, 5’9” with blonde hair and blue eyes. Investigators believe a bicycle is his main method of transportation.
