A female pedestrian has been transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a van in Toronto's east end.
Police said the woman was hit just after 11 p.m. Friday while attempting to cross an intersection at Sandown Avenue, near Kingston Road and Midland Avenue.
The vehicle was heading westbound on Kingston when it struck the woman, who police say was crossing against the light.
Emergency crews transported the woman to a nearby hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.
Police said it's too early to tell whether charges will be laid against the pedestrian. The driver remained at the scene.
