TORONTO - An Oakville town councillor was charged with assault Sunday after allegedly shoving a man who rents a home from him.
Halton Regional Police were called to an Oakville residence for a landlord-tenant dispute.
Police resolved the dispute, but were called back a short time later when the tenant alleged the councillor pushed him twice.
Police later arrested the councillor and charged him with two counts of assault.
Police say the tenant was not injured.
Coun. Max Khan was released Sunday and will appear in Milton Court in July.
