TORONTO - Provincial NDP delegates have elected a new candidate for the upcoming byelection in York South-Weston on Feb. 8.
Thirty-three-year-old Paul Ferreira has been chosen to run for the north Toronto seat, which has been vacant since September 2006.
The York South-Weston seat was formerly held by Liberal MP Joe Cordiano.
Ferreira is currently a manager with the Toronto-based Canadian Society for Training and Development.
He has a degree in journalism from Carleton University and helped run David Miller's successful 2003 campaign for mayor of Toronto.
