Toronto police say they've recovered at least 700 more bicycles in the ongoing investigation into a massive alleged bike theft operation.
Officers from 14 Division executed three more search warrants on Monday, police said in a news release issued Tuesday.
In total, police have recovered about 3,200 bicycles so far in their investigation, which began on July 16.
Igor Kenk of the Bicycle Clinic, which operated at 847 Queen St. West, was remanded into custody on Friday.
Kenk, 49, and Jean Laveau, 47, have each been charged with theft, attempted theft, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools.
Jeanie Chung, 37, who is romantically involved with Kenk, also faces charges. Police have charged her with possession of stolen property and possession of cocaine and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
The stolen bicycles are on display at 35 Strachan Ave. and 30 Ordnance St.
They will be available until Thursday for anyone who wants to identify a bicycle they think has been stolen. The hours are from noon to 8 p.m.
Police ask people to bring identification or proof of ownership. Otherwise, they will have to swear out an affidavit and go through other red tape to lay claim to the bike.
Many of the bikes have been stripped of parts. Some people are choosing to leave their bikes behind, saying it's simply not worth the cost of fixing them.
So far, thousands of people have visited the bike depot but only 260 bikes have been claimed by their owners.
"There have been others who have come up and who have said 'I'm not taking it,'" said one police officer on the scene. "About 40 or 50 people have said they're not taking it with them, it's not worth it."
People are encouraged to register their bicycles with police, who say it would make recovery easier should the bike ever be stolen.
