The victim of a shooting at a suspected marijuana grow-op in the city's east end has died, according to police.
Khong Duy Nguyen, 33, was shot in the head during a home invasion on Dean Park Road, in the Sheppard Avenue and Meadowvale Road area.
Nguyen died in hospital around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Police responded to an ambulance station on Sheppard Avenue East in Scarborough just before midnight on Wednesday.
An unidentified occupant of the home brought Nguyen to the ambulance station and left him in the parking lot.
Police allege that three people, armed with handguns, burst into the home located in the quiet residential neighbourhood.
Investigators believe a struggle ensued between the armed men and the occupants.
In a written statement from police released Thursday afternoon, police said the occupants were "restrained" while the suspects "removed a quantity of marijuana."
Investigators believe the house was the site of a marijuana grow-op. No arrests have been made in the case and no suspects identified.
