TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled goaltender Ben Scrivens on an emergency basis from the American Hockey League's Marlies ahead of Monday's road game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Leafs made the move after starting netminder James Reimer left after the first period of Saturday's overtime victory in Montreal.

Reimer had his helmet knocked off after a collision with Canadiens forward Brian Gionta. Reimer finished the period, but did not return.

Jonas Gustavsson will start for Toronto against the Flyers after coming on in relief and posting the victory against the Habs on Saturday.

Scrivens has appeared in four games with the Toronto Marlies this season, compiling a 3-1-0 record with a 3.02 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage.

The 25-year-old is expected to serve as Gustavsson's backup Monday night.
