Toronto police chief Bill Blair faced hostility Tuesday night at a Pride Week party over alleged mistreatment of some gay people swept up in G20 arrests.

Hecklers outside the Church Community Centre berated the chief, calling for his resignation over the actions of police during the G20 summit.

Hundreds of protesters were arrested by police after rallies throughout the downtown core turned violent.

Some of those arrested say because they are gay they were place in separate holding cells at the G20 detention centre.

Protesters who began yelling in the middle of Tuesday night's cocktail reception before the chief arrived were asked to leave, CTV's Paul Bliss reported. Organizers asked them to leave.
