Halton police say they have arrested a Milton man in connection with a human trafficking investigation.
Det. Sgt. Brad Cook told CTV Toronto on Thursday that this investigation has reached into Peel region, Niagara Falls and London, Ont.
Officers from the child abuse and sexual assault bureau worked with the guns and gangs unit and the Milton detective office, he said.
Aldain Alando Beckford, 25, is facing a total of 12 charges. They include human trafficking, kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault.
He appeared in court Thursday for a bail hearing in Milton.
No allegations against Beckford have been proven in a court of law.
Cook said a judge has placed a publication ban on the evidence, so he can't give any details about the case.
Police are continuing their investigation in an effort to identify other possible suspects, he said.
