TORONTO - Details have been announced for an inquest into the death of an Ontario teen who was being taken to an emergency room 20 kilometres from the scene of a traffic accident.
Reilly Anzovino, 18, died on Dec. 27, 2009, as the ambulance carrying her reached a hospital in Welland.
The emergency room in Fort Erie, five kilometres closer, had been closed as part of a controversial hospital restructuring plan.
Her family and others believe she may have survived if she had received help in Fort Erie.
An inquest into Anzovino's death has been set for Oct. 31 in Welland.
It's expected to last four weeks, and hear from 35 witnesses.
