CTV Toronto has won with three major awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association.
The awards were handed out at a ceremony at Humber College in Toronto on Saturday.
CTV News at Six with Ken Shaw and Michelle Dube won the Bert Cannings award for best local newscast in a large market.
CTV Toronto was also presented the Gord Sinclair award for best live special event coverage of the municipal election in October 2014.
“Our team embraced the election with enthusiasm and I am honoured and very lucky to be a part of this incredible team,” said CTV Toronto senior producer Sophia Skopelitis said as she accepted the award.
The Charlie Edwards award for best spot news was also awarded to CTV Toronto for coverage of a six-alarm factory fire back in March 2015.
CTV affiliates in Montreal, Kitchener, London, Ottawa and Nothern Ontario also won RTDNA awards.
CTV Toronto is Toronto’s most watched local newscast.
