The TTC will implement permanent crowd control measures at one of the Toronto's busiest transit hubs.
The move comes after a successful two-week experiment at the Bloor subway station platform. The TTC put up barriers and had staff direct people to different cars on the subway in an effort to ease crowd congestion.
Barriers also separated passengers coming on and off the trains.
On average about three additional trains were able to move through Bloor Station as a result of the pilot project.
The project officially ended Friday but TTC officials said they will continue to provide extra staff to the station to continue the initiative.
Bloor Station is where the Yonge-University subway line merges with the Bloor-Danforth line. About 200,000 commuters use the Bloor subway station daily.
