A child-support claim levied against Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh has been dismissed by a Maryland court.

The Toronto Star reports that a Maryland court ruled Friday that it did not have jurisdiction in deciding support payments for Bosh's four-month-old daughter, Trinity.

The mother of Bosh's daughter, Allison Mathis, filed suit at the end of November 2008, seeking both support and child custody.

Bosh has made few public statements about the matter, other than to say he loves his daughter and respects her mother.

The news about the child-support claim broke on March 24, the same day that Bosh turned 25 years old. That day, he made some brief remarks on the issue.

"All I can say is I'm willing to take care of my responsibilities like I've been doing in the past and in the future and have respect for everyone," Bosh told reporters on March 24. "I love my daughter, I love myself and I respect her mother."

Since being drafted by Toronto in 2003, Bosh has developed into the team's best player, averaging 22.7 points and 9.8 rebounds per game this season.

He founded the Chris Bosh Foundation, an organization which promotes sports and education with youth in both Toronto and his hometown of Dallas.
