A 14-year-old boy was killed Saturday after a tragic toboganning accident.
The teen was having some fun in the snow on Tank Hill in the village of Colborne, located just east of Cobourg.
Police say Mitchell Ferguson lost control of his sled and slammed into a tree.
Emergency crews rushed him to Northumerland Hills hospital but doctors could not save the teen in time. He was pronounced dead soon after arrival.
Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the accident.
