A BMW that was found in the area of a downtown Toronto nightclub where two people were killed in a brazen shooting earlier this week is being investigated by police.
The blue vehicle was found Thursday morning, near Muzik nightclub. It was parked against a tree and there appears to be a bullet hole on the bottom of the passenger-side door.
Police have not said who the owner of the vehicle is, or how it may be connected with Tuesday's double homicide. But a man claiming to be the owner of the vehicle told CTV Toronto on Thursday the bullet hole is four years old and it was parked by a valet.
Tuesday’s shooting claimed the life of Ariela Navarro-Fenoy, 26, of Toronto, and Duvel Hibbert, 23, of Brampton.
According to police, Navarro-Fenoy was an innocent bystander who walked into a gunfight while trying to escape a shooting inside the club where Drake's OVO after-party was being held.
She is being remembered by friends and family as a young woman who was full of charisma.
"I know right now she's up there smiling down on us with that beautiful smile she always had on," friend Nareen Ismaili told CTV Toronto.
Three other people were also injured during the shooting. Police said on Wednesday that one of the injured victims has since been released from hospital. The other two victims remain in hospital, one in critical condition and the other in serious condition.
Meanwhile, police believe Hibbert may have been a target in the shooting. The 23-year-old was known to police. Sources told CTV Toronto on Wednesday he was a member of the Hot Heads Crew, a street gang from Malton. He's also appeared in court for a number of charges, including assault and extortion.
His mother, Auline Lewis, said although her son had run-ins with police, he had a "good heart: and described him as family man.
"Whether or not he had any problems in the past, he never deserved to die in this way," said Lewis, holding back tears.
Search for suspect continues
Police are searching for two suspects in connection with the shooting. The first suspect is described as a black male with a skinny build, between 5'10" and 5'11" tall, and between 24- and 28-years-old. Police say he was last seen wearing a yellow, burgundy and plaid button-up shirt.
The second suspect is described as a black male, in his mid 20s, and is 6'0" tall. He was last seen with a fresh buzz cut and was wearing a light purple crewneck sweater with a colourful design on the front.
