TORONTO - Craig Anderson couldn't have made a better first impression on his new teammates.

The Ottawa Senators' goalie stopped 47 shots and didn't allow a goal in the shootout in a 1-0 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Anderson was acquired from Colorado on Friday for fellow netminder Brian Elliott.

His night included a tremendous pad stop on Phil Kessel in overtime to send the game to a shootout.

Jason Spezza beat rookie Leafs goalie James Reimer with a hard shot off the crossbar in the shootout to give the Senators their first win past regulation all season.

Toronto and Ottawa entered the night with 28th- and 29th-ranked offences in the league, and it showed.

Further complicating matters was the fact the Senators' lineup featured three forwards -- Erik Condra, Andre Benoit and Colin Greening -- all in search of their first N-H-L goal.
