Toronto police were dealing with two separate cases of falling glass in downtown Toronto on Tuesday.
Officers were called to 478 King St. W., between Brant Street and Spadina Avenue, shortly after noon. Police said a glass panel from the top unit of the building fell from a balcony and shattered on its way to ground.
A 29-year-old man was cut and bleeding from the top of his head, said Toronto Police Const. Jeniffer Sidhu said.
A man could be seen from the CTV News chopper sweeping up shards of glass on a balcony. Police officers swept up debris on the street and sidewalk.
In a message posted to Twitter, police said the glass panels have been checked and appear secure. The area is now deemed safe.
Shortly before 2 p.m. police received another call concerning falling glass near Bay Street and Dundas Avenue West.
Police say a 48-year-old woman was walking when she was cut by falling glass.
According to paramedics, the woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Toronto police posted on Twitter that the incident was caused by an old window that had broken. They added that area is now safe.
