A woman is in custody after a toddler was found dead in a Mississauga apartment building, police say.
The body was discovered at an apartment complex in the area of Sherobee Road and North Service Road at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
Police say the two-year-old was deceased when the officers arrived at the scene.
The cause of the child’s death is still unclear.
Police have not released any information on a connection between the child and the suspect, but have confirmed the toddler lived in the building.
Investigators say no other suspects are outstanding and no charges have yet been laid.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
